LESSON PLAN - DEVELOPING READING AND WRITING SKILLS USING NATURAL ENVIRONMENT
Subject- Letters hidden in the park.
The main objective: training reading and writing skills.
Operational objectives:
Student is able to:
- search words in collection of letters ;
- perform visual and auditory analysis and synthesis;
- sound letters, divide into syllables; count letters in words, recognise vowels;
- sort the words out in alphabetical order;
- rearrange jumbled words to make sentences ;
- collect vocabulary based on the picture being seen ;
- edit a description based on collected vocabulary ;
- work in group, individually and in pairs ;
- evaluate your and your school friends’ work;

The course of lesson:
- Students cross out types of trees from the string of letters, and then read and write the password from other letters. The password is the subject of the lesson.

PASSWORD: LETTERS HIDDEN IN THE PARK.
- Trip to the park.
Students collect nature's gifts in the park, for example ( leaves, bark, acorns, sticks, chestnuts, stones, cones). They put them in the paper bags and empty everything in the designated place. Teacher uses the material to cover the nature's gifts.
- The draw. Assigned children draw lots the treasures hidden under the material, guess the name by touching and write it in the table. Then all of students sound letters in that words, divide into syllables, count letters and mark vowels. They write the results of their work on a large worksheet. (group work)

- The alphabet (group work)
The students rearrange jumbled letters to make words in alphabetical order and attach them using clips to the string which is fixed between trees.
- Then the pupils arrange the names of treasures found in the park (written on the sheets of paper) in alphabetical order and attach them using clips to the second string which is fixed between trees.
- The students play tag with designated letters – sport game. All children run between trees. The teacher gives a signal and calls out the password - TAG - one student needs to catch the person up with a designated letter by the teacher.
For example: Catch somebody up with the letter "D" ….
- Rearranging jumbled words to make sentences. (work in pairs - the envelopes with jumbled words, sticking complete sentences on the worksheet)

- Monotyping. The pupils trace a bark on the sheet of paper using soft pastels, giving the title of the work, writing the title in the worksheet. – (individual work).
- Collecting vocabulary about the parts of the tree. - working in groups on the worksheets - using the senses of hearing, sight, touch and smell.

The students present the information, which they obtained at the lesson. All students edit description of the tree based on collected vocabulary.
